As medical director of Central Maryland Radiation Oncology (CMRO), Dr. Cheston looks beyond each patient’s cancer and sees them foremost as a unique human being. She takes the time to get to know her patients and understand the goals they want from their treatment. Armed with this knowledge, Dr. Cheston guides her patients through the decision-making process so they are fully informed partners in their own care.
As someone whose life was personally impacted by a mother who had breast cancer, Dr. Cheston now finds it gratifying to destroy cancer cells for a living. She translates that passion into providing the utmost level of care her patients.
Dr. Cheston earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency and fellowship in radiation oncology. She is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
With nearly three decades of experience at the University of Maryland, Dr. Cheston treats all cancers at CMRO. However, she specializes in treating breast cancers with newer applications of radiation therapy.
